COVID-19 Response
For many seniors in our community, Meals on Wheels can be the difference between remaining in their own homes or relocating to a nursing facility. The nutritious meal, friendly visit and safety check help them cope with three of the biggest threats of aging; hunger, isolation and loss of independence. Research proves when seniors have the right support they gain greater quality of life, need fewer hospital stays and live longer. Meals on Wheels recipients report improved health, security and independence.
Since March 15th 2020, our volunteers have delivered more than 100,000 meals to individuals in our community who would otherwise go hungry; that’s more than TWICE the number of meals normally delivered in an ENTIRE YEAR! This has put a huge financial burden on our organization. Please help us continue our mission without placing someone on a waiting list or turning them away altogether.
